We have been using the computers a lot this year. For your blogging assignment this week, I’d like you to think about how you think the computers have helped you learn this year. Tell me the following using complete, super sentences:

1) Which computer project was your favorite this year, and what did you learn from it?

2) Why do you think computers are so important to learning?

3) What do you hope you get to do with computers in fourth grade?

Blogging Assignment – DUE May 15th

15 05 2008

We’ve been doing some descriptive writing this week and discussing how important the details are. Some of you found that it was more difficult than you thought to describe your monsters! For tonight’s blogging assignment, I want you to write about your favorite room in your house. Be sure to tell me which room it is and describe what it looks like (i.e. the color of the walls, what furniture it has, etc.). Help me to make a mental image of that room in my mind! Be sure to read over your writing and make corrections before you submit!

Thanks for Going Bananas!

Blogging Assignment – DUE Friday, May 9th

7 05 2008
On Tuesday, we visited a turn-of-the-century orange grove formerly owned by the Key family. It gave us a look at what life would have been like here 100 years ago. Take a look at our pictures below and then, in three or more COMPLETE sentences, tell me what you would have LIKED about living back then, what you would NOT have liked, and what your favorite part of the field trip was. I can’t wait to see your comments! :)

Third Grade News—May 5-9
·     Only five weeks left!! Yikes

·     Mrs. Busch should have your t-shirt order for the spring musical by now. You may e-mail her with any questions at jbusch@salemorange.com <mailto:jbusch@salemorange.com>

·     If you signed up to drive to Key Ranch on Tuesday, May 6, please plan to be at our classroom door ready to go by 8:15 so we can be in the cars by 8:20. If you have a digital camera and could help take some pictures for me, bring it! I’d love to have the students take their own pictures, but the experience is very hands-on and they have no hands left to carry a camera—that’s where you can help out! We will be eating lunch at the ranch and will plan to return around 1:00.

·     Talent Show try-outs are May 13-14. See salemorange.com for more information.

·     Hat Day—Tuesday, May 13—free dress if you wear a hat too!

·     Plan to join us for two important technology events!

o  Salem Technology FAQs—6:30, May 19—Salem Gym
