This is my seventh year at Salem. I am a Concordia University,
Irvine graduate with a Masters degree in Education. My husband,
Kyle Gilbert, is one of the fifth grade teachers here at Salem.
We have two sons, Kyle Jr. (four years old) and Caleb (one year old).
I LOVE to teach and I’m looking forward to another excellent year in
third grade!

Hi Mrs. Gilbert, I found your website through a google search about wax museums. I’ve been teaching for 20 years in Charleston, SC. I would love to ask you a few questions about the display boards that you have your students do. I’ve done the wax muesum with my third graders for many years too and was looking for some fresh ideas to include for the students to do. Would you please tell me if you have any requirements that the students must include on the display board? What is your grading criteria on the board? We are doing our wax museum on Feb. 22. Hi mrs. Gilbert I got sick when we went on our trip for the whole time and on the last day which is today Linzi got my germs on the last day. we are flying home today. Hi Mrs G I’m in Puerto Rico. I miss you a lot. Know what when I slept at my cousin’s house the house flooded. It was awesome!!!!! but still I’m having a fun trip. At night it is so hard to sleep because the frogs chirped all night. I will list some of the things that my grandma has: Chickens,hamick, Grandpa that has a broken hip and a lot of cats. See you in a few months.

Hi Mrs. Gilbert:
We’re having a great time in Puerto Rico. We spent the first week in San Lorenzo, a mountain town along a river. The Mojica home has many chickens, and the hillsides are full of frogs, so it’s hard to sleep with all the noise. The humidity is super high.
Now we’re staying in San Juan, and we hope to get to the beach.
See you in August.
